Museum Trip

Hey, guys! As you (might) know, on Monday, our class went to the museum to celebrate the Maori New Year. The Maori New Year is on the 28th of June this year.

The Museum
At the museum, we:

looked at old Maori traps,

learned about Matariki,

then played a song with rako sticks.
I really enjoyed my day.

Week 4 was a blast!

As some of you are wondering, my week was awesome! This is what I did.

MONDAY: We got our first piece of homework for the year. The only bad thing was that I forgot to put it my bag, and because I go to Skids, (Look back a few posts) I had another chance to get it. But, NOPE! The class was locked!

TUESDAY: For homework, the same thing happened to me. The only difference was that I don't go to Skids on Tuesdays.

WEDNESDAY: EXACTLY same as the day before. I finally thought to myself, "I can't keep forgetting my homework book!"

THURSDAY: So basically, As soon as I got to school yesterday, I got my homework book then put it into my bag, and that was the end of the homework catastrophe!

FRIDAY: Today I am so excited! Today, after assembly, WE HAVE A WATER FIGHT! I have a HUGE water gun. I've been wanting to have a water fight since last year was cancelled!

Room 1's Assembly Item

In Term 3, the Room 1 Raptors Reading group performed an item, the Gone play. First, we sang a song, Adiemus, then watched a video of the nuclear accident in Gone, then the Raptors performed the play of Chapter 1 of Gone. Here are videos of the song, nuclear accident then the play.

  1. How many posts did you write? 12 from September after I publish this, and 20 total after I publish this.
  2. How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge? 9 from the challenge, 0 total my own interests, 3 school related (September), 10 school related (Total).
  3. How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students? 0 (only 2 from my mentor).
  4. Which post received the most comments? Equally Earthquake! and My Country.
  5. Why do you think that happened? I don't know.
  6. Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why? Earthquake! because of all of the screaming and running around in the video How not to react during a quake.
  7. Did you change blog themes at all and why? Yes. My theme is Minecraft Gold. I changed it because I thought that I'd get more visitors at my blog.
  8. How many widgets do you have? 3.
  9. Do you think this is too many or not enough? Too many.
  10. How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll? 0.
I did my audit with Riley. He sits near me in class. I had to sit beside Riley while he navigated around my blog and recorded what I observed as he interacted with my blog. When we were finished I asked him the following questions:

Q1. What were your first impressions of this blog?
A1. A good blog, not to many widgets and good posts.
Q2. What captured your attention?
A2. The cool widgets and the writing.
Q3. What distracted you on the blog?
A3. The Minecraft gold ingots in the background of writing.
Q4. What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog?
A4. Put less widgets on the blog.
